We are first and foremost about Jesus Christ
IT’S ALL ABOUT JESUS
Jesus is the most pivotal person who has ever graced the earth. He is the most pivotal person in history, and He is the most pivotal person in our future. No one is, was, or will ever be more loved or hated than Jesus even to the point of death upon a cross by the Roman authorities. More songs have been written about Him, sung to Him, artwork created of Him, and books written about Him than anyone who’s ever lived. We even divide time before and after His life and ministry. Our culture has much to say about Jesus, much of it in error. We may take heart though because He has much to say about who He is in His inspired, inerrant, infallible, and completely sufficient word: The Bible. The culture may get their ideas from media, film, novels, or even from past church experiences but there is really only one way to know the real Jesus and that’s by hearing what His word says about Him. There is a difference between knowing about Jesus and actually knowing Jesus. At Bethel Baptist Church we are completely devoted to Jesus—and we would welcome you to sit with us and grow in loving submission to our risen savior as we are equipped and edified by His Word.
James 4:7 — Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Preaching The Word
Expository preaching is a form of sermon preaching in which the main point of a biblical text is the main point of the sermon preached. It is a verse by verse method with the intent to find out what the explicit intent of the author was for each specific verse. This exposes our body to the whole counsel of God’s word without skipping over any ‘difficult’ passages. We have the opportunity to hear all of God’s word preached and proclaimed!
With so many who profess to be Christians in the world you wouldn’t know the cost of discipleship is high. But the reward of true discipleship is great. The gospel truly changes lives, and from that we see changed families and changed communities. Jesus set the precedent for the life of a disciple who makes disciples. In the Gospels, Jesus called men and women to follow him and to teach them all He had commanded and for them to likewise teach others.
Church is more than just a service on Sunday mornings. It’s people living life together and helping one another in everyday life. Each week, people meet in small groups to learn about God, pray, eat, laugh, and live and grow. Our Small groups are the heart of our church body life and one of the primary ways our body cares for one another.
We believe church planting is a natural extension of God’s mission for us to make disciples and it is a priority for us. We desire plant and revitalize churches so that more people can meet Jesus. The way the first disciples of Jesus fulfilled this calling of his to make disciples was by planting churches that preached the gospel and cared for each other. Through churches, people hear about Jesus, make Jesus their identity, worship Jesus, find community, and become part of Jesus’ mission here on earth.
If you have time I would love to share with you a little about how we came to Bethel Baptist Church!

What is the Gospel?
Statement of Concern
There is a growing concern that the Southern Baptist Convention is moving away from the Conservative Resurgence which took place in the 1980s.
Two areas of concern are the move toward women pastors, and the second concern is a major emphasis on CRT as a way of interpretation for God’s word, which we believe to be antithetical to the true Gospel. As we pray and contribute, we are determined to send Messengers with a voice to address these concerns in all future conventions and gatherings for the SBC. Click on the link below to find out more on how we can stay involved in helping during these times in our convention.
